Is Today the Day?????

So, the lady & gentleman come over to the kitty cage.  She immediately points out "double-oh-seven," as she wrote down the tag number of the kitten she was playing with yesterday.  She oooh-ed and awww-ed over his little black paw pads.  They played with my litter mate for a moment.  Then, he came over to the kitty cage and said, "Why don't you look at this grey one?"  She agreed and he brought me over to the playroom.  My litter mate & I played, both trying to grab the spotlight in order to be adopted.  They watched us together & it was obvious that my mate had a bit more of a mean streak.  I knew I had to win her over so I walked over to her. She picked me up &, in that moment, the three of us knew I was going home with them.

He left.  She stayed & said, "Goodbye," to my mate & apologized because she had chosen me.  It was a sad moment & I hoped that she might take us both.  Soon, I was in a car taking my first of many rides with my new mommy.  I was confused as to why Mommy didn't buy any of the necessities - food, litter box, litter, toys, etc...  However, when we walked through the door, I could smell kitty food and litter.  There were also plenty of toys.  Mommy & Aunt Crystal took care of it yesterday.  She thought ahead, which I would soon learn she always will with me.

Mommy carried me upstairs & laid me on the guest bed while she took care of a few things.  I was tuckered out after the adoption event so I curled up & took my first nap at home.  Mommy took pictures of my first nap.  These are some of her favorite pictures (and, let me tell you - there are a TON of pictures of me).  She tells everyone that my first nap was my way of saying, "I'm home & I already love it here!"  August 20, 2006 was the beginning of a great life!  I couldn't ask for a better mommy or daddy.  There's never a boring day in our household.  Catch ya' later!  --AJ the Kitty Boy
