First Night in a Big House

My first night at home was kind of weird.  The house was much larger than my cage at the adoption center.  I roamed for a while and found my way between the dishwasher and the wall; this was soon closed so that I could no longer enter.  When it was time for bed, my new mommy carried me to bed, placed me in a smaller bed on the big bed, and held me all night long.  I cried, which drove my new daddy crazy.  I wasn't accustomed to sleeping without my litter mates.  During the night, my mommy carried me to my litter box & waited on me while I took care of business, then carried me back to bed.  Getting used to this would be easy!

When morning came, my parents locked me in a stairwell so that I couldn't roam the house while they were at work.  It was bigger than the cage, but I was all alone.  Now, I was thinking, "Maybe this isn't going to work."  I cried & cried, which made my mommy cry.  Well, if she was crying, what was she going to do about it?  She left & came back with a ticking clock, as if this was going to keep me company!  Hmmmmmpph?!?!

Last night, Mommy took me to visit with my friends.  We had a ball.  Thomas & Floyd are so much fun.  I'm catching up to them in size, which is very cool.  My friend Mary was at their house so I got to play with her, too.  It was a fun evening!  Mom owed me since she spent our Saturday away from the house studying for some test she's preparing for.  Catch ya' later!  --AJ the Kitty Boy
