AJ'S ADVENTURES The Life of AJ the Kitty Boy & His Sidekick Marlin I'm a kitty boy who leads an exciting life, filled with daily adventures. I want to help other kitties/kiddies by telling my tales!
AJ's Adventures - The Life of AJ the Kitty Boy & His Sidekick Marlin
So, one of these days, I'll bring you up to date on everything that's going on. Tonight, though, I was sidetracked because of the kitten. Just when I thought I could settle down with some time for myself and really give you all the scoop, I heard Mommy gasp in pain! We'll get back to that in a minute.
I've had Wahoo since I was a kitten and then there was the Wubba, but I always come back to Wahoo.
Marlin has the Bird. His bird goes everywhere with him. He loves to fight with the bird and to play fetch with the bird. He waters his bird and carries his bird to the litter box. One night, he even tried to cook the bird by immersing the bird in a pan of olive oil. Meet Marlin's bird (yes, I know the kitten is cute and it's not even a good photo of him...):
Tonight, Marlin & Mommy were playing with the bird and Marlin's claws came out. I've always known how to be more careful with my claws, but not the kitten. He sliced Mommy's right hand up. Poor Mommy. Needless to say, instead of telling you some of my stories, I've got to play with Marlin and take care of Mommy.
Gotta get back to it. Catch ya' later. --AJ the Kitty Boy
Last July, my world really changed when Marlin came to live in my house. Nope, life will never be the same again. I have lots of stories to tell you about my pesky little brother. The photo below is a perfect example of the kitten's fearless, in-your-face behavior. And, to think - my parents thought nothing was sacred when it was just me. Marlin wanted Mommy to share her milk this morning.
Oh, yeah, thanks for visiting us last night, Aunt Maribeth! I hope you & Mommy had a great time celebrating your birthday. You both looked very pretty! Love you! Oh, one more thing . . . next time you have sushi, please bring some back for Marlin and me. Mommy and Daddy don't let us have people food so you'll have to sneak it in. Thanks!
Hello, Everyone! And, Happy New Year! It's been some time since I've blogged. Funny how life just gets busy. But, one of my New Year's resolutions is to get back into blogging. I certainly have a lot to share with you. I got a little brother this past summer and he is such a pest! Having this kitten in my house has really changed things for a cat who had become quite accustomed to being an only child! But, we'll backtrack and I'll fill you in soon.
Last night, my friend Rafa had to go to the emergency room because he was having problems using the litter box. That poor cat was in the hospital away from Aunt Crystal, Uncle Chas, and his brother Thomas P. O'Malley all night. He came home late this morning and still isn't 100% better yet. And, Aunt Crystal doesn't think the valium helped him. That, I completely understand. Back in the days when I traveled on Delta, Mommy tried tranquilizers on me. If you recall, they made me one drunk, very unhappy kitty boy.
So, I'm sending many licks and belly rubs Rafa's way! Get well soon, Rafa!
I've attached a photo of Rafa so you can see what a pretty kitty he is. He was named after the tennis player Rafael Nadal, who many women across the world also find very attractive.
Please excuse the poor status of my site . . . the template changed and I haven't had time to work through how to manage the changes.
It's been a busy summer and I have a lot to tell you, but not a lot of time right now.
Quick update - my friends moved away; I think Mommy was sad because Aunt Crystal went with them. I've already been to Knoxville to visit them, though. Aunt Crystal and Uncle Chas got a new kitten which means that I have a new friend. Daddy hasn't won any money fishing this year. Speedy's been too busy fishing to come visit me. Mommy is traveling too much.
Be back soon to fill you in on all of the details.
Grandma - if you're reading this, I sent you a gift with Daddy. Make sure he doesn't forget to give it to you. Mommy packaged it for me and it looks kinda girly so Daddy was complaining . . . hope you and Daddy enjoy your visit tonight.
Last night, I shared my last supper with my friends in Atlanta. Mommy & I visited their place that had become so familiar to me, but it was completely different - a cat's heaven - boxes everywhere, stacked high, with plenty of places to hide!
We had so much fun! Uncle Chas ordered two large pizzas that they had no problem polishing off. Then, Aunt Crystal cleaned out the refrigerator & made Mommy take everything that wouldn't be transported to Knoxville, TN. This will be the first time we've had more than milk & kitty treats in our refrigerator in a long time! (Okay - I'm exaggerating, but not by much; we also have orange juice, diet coke, tea, butter, and cheese.) One could say that my mom likes to keep it to the bare minimum. As long as I have kitty treats and can share milk with my Daddy every morning, I'm happy.
When it was time to say, "Good-bye" and go home, I was very sad because I didn't know when I would see my friends again. And, I felt bad for them because I don't think they knew what was happening (they're not as worldly as I am). Aunt Crystal walked us (and our groceries) to the car. We were all a little sad, but friendship doesn't have boundaries so I'll see my friends soon.
So, Mommy & Daddy came home a whole day early from the Bahamas, to see me - are you surprised? You shouldn't be!
They were clearing customs at PDK, which took three hours because they needed to get the plane to McCollum and Bryan, our pilot, was detained for these three hours. Turns out that Bryan didn't serve his community service for an infraction. Mommy wouldn't share what he did with me, but said that my fans would understand if they looked at the adjective from my last posting: Drunken Kitty.
Finally, Mommy & Daddy left Bryan. No one has heard from him (however, we know that he's incarcerated), since, including Daddy - his employer! Silly pilot!
Since I mentally prepared for my travel on Delta just over two weeks ago, it's been busy!
Mommy went to the vet to get tranquilizers for the ride. She gave me two because I wanted out . . . she wasn't listening so I kept asking, to no avail! She couldn't give me a third because the vet said, "Two's his limit." Thank goodness!
When we got home & I emerged from my carrier, I could barely stand. I looked drunk - whatever that is. Daddy felt really badly. Mommy & Bryan couldn't stop laughing. Daddy won't let Mommy give me tranquilizers anymore. Whew!
Gotta run back to the squirrels, but will finish updating you on the last couple of weeks later. Long story short, Daddy didn't win any money in last week's fishing tourney (except from one of our neighbors). Mommy's out of class until June. Mommy & Daddy celebrated a decade together. I got to spend a few days with Thomas & Floyd. Cousin Bryan - he's in trouble! The Bryan story is probably the most interesting so I'll fill you in on that next.
Yesterday, Mommy & I were hanging out in the kitchen when we saw a whirlwind of squirrel on the patio! These two squirrels were chasing one another in circles &, my oh my, were they fast! It was so funny that we had to call Daddy, to share it with him. He suggested that they wanted to make little squirrels. Not sure how Daddy gathered that from the squirrel pursuit story, but that's what he said . . . go figure!
Daddy's in FL. Mommy & I go down tonight...I think I have to fly Delta. They make me sit under the seat - not happy about this! When I fly in MY plane, I get to fly & I have my very own seat. I even keep treats on the plane. I don't think my favorite flight attendant is on this flight tonight so there will be no preferential treatment for the kitty boy - yikes!
Gotta run. Need to mentally prepare for this evening's travel. Catch ya' later. --AJ the Kitty Boy
Well, Daddy's home from Venezuela . . . he fished in two tournaments & won 3rd & 4th place in them . . . his winnings - $1K & a couple of reels . . . congrats, Daddy! Hope you win more next time. That's not gonna keep the treats coming!
Last night, my parents were behaving very strangely . . . Daddy carried in a bunch of shopping bags & Mommy unmade & remade the bed . . . Daddy never shops & Mommy never does housework . . . am I in the right house?
Did I mention that my mommy was in Dallas last week. She returned with the saddest story about a kitty girl named Tonka. Once upon a time, Tonka had a home . . . she's a female cat - a little loony as they all are - but she still deserves love, right! So, there's a tornado. Tonka disappears for two weeks. When she returned, here "parents" were beside themselves. I think they were happy to have "lost" Tonka. So, they exiled her to an empty yet furnished home, with an avian - now, her only friend. I feel so badly for Tonka . . . I sent her some treats! There's no love like belly rubs . . . but, if you can't have belly rubs, treats are the next best thing. Hope you enjoy them, Tonka! Wish I could break you out! At least you have your avian . . . I love my birds & squirrels!
