Frequently Asked Questions

Individuals age 16 and older may operate an ATV as long as an adult rents the vehicle and remains present for the entire duration of the ride. A valid ID is required. We are currently expanding our fleet to include youth‑sized ATVs designed for riders ages 10 to 15.
To rent a Side by Side, you need to be at least 18 years old and possess a valid driver's license.
People of all ages are welcome to ride as passengers in the Side by Sides.

Guided Tours
Our guided tours are private experiences led by one of our expert guides. They’re not slow, straight‑line rides - far from it! Each guide tailors the adventure to your group’s comfort level and thrill preference, mixing scenic trails with exciting terrain and opportunities to reach top speeds safely. Every guided tour is private to your group, meaning you’ll never be paired with strangers unless you consent. It’s the perfect balance of safety, adrenaline, and personalized fun.
Free‑Roam Rentals
Free‑roam gives you the freedom to explore at your own pace. You’ll receive a detailed trail map and safety briefing before heading out, then enjoy the park independently. It’s ideal for experienced riders who want full control of their route and timing.

Yes - Maryland DNR ORV Park Passes are required for every person entering Wolf Den Run State Park, including drivers and passengers. Passes must be obtained before your adventure begins.
Park Passes Are PER PERSON
Not per vehicle
Every rider and passenger must have their own individual pass
This applies to both Maryland residents and non‑residents
Park Pass Pricing
Maryland Residents: $10 per person
Non‑Maryland Residents: $12 per person

To make things easier, you can choose the “Park Pass Add‑On” during booking.
We handle the entire process for you

All AJ’s Adventures tours take place inside Wolf Den Run State Park and in select surrounding areas that offer additional scenic and adventurous terrain. This gives every group a wider variety of trails, views, and riding experiences.
Wolf Den Run State Park (Primary Location)
Wolf Den Run is Maryland’s only designated ORV park and offers:
Miles of marked trails
Creek crossings and forest paths
Hill climbs and rocky terrain
Scenic mountain overlooks
Beginner‑friendly routes and advanced sections
It’s a controlled, safe environment managed by Maryland DNR — perfect for both new and experienced riders.
Surrounding Riding Areas
In addition to the park, some tours may include nearby off‑road‑friendly areas that offer:
Wider open stretches for higher speeds
More rugged terrain for thrill‑seekers
Scenic backcountry routes
Additional trail variety depending on your group’s comfort level

Vehicle Readiness
All ATVs are inspected, cleaned, and fueled before each adventure. You’ll receive a quick safety briefing and gear fitting before heading out.

We recommend dressing appropriately for the weather. Keep in mind that wind speeds on the trails can make it feel cooler than the outdoor temperature, so if you tend to get chilly easily, bringing a light jacket or hoodie is always a smart idea.
Closed toe shoes are strongly recommended for the best experience on the trails. Open toed shoes and sandals are permitted but not advised.
Outside of that, come dressed comfortably and ready for a great adventure!

Wolf Den Run State Park is open every day from 9 AM to 6 PM. After daylight saving time concludes, the hours will change to 9 AM to 4:30 PM daily.
The park office closes at 5 PM each day. Be sure to buy your pass before that time, or you can purchase it in advance for future visits.
We are open from Monday to Sunday. You can make reservations starting at 9 AM. The final booking must conclude by 6:00 PM. When daylight saving time ends, you can still reserve as early as 9 AM, but the last booking must finish by 4:30 PM.

Regardless of whether you opt for a tour guide or prefer to explore on your own, there are countless activities available. You can simply relish the journey, traverse through quaint towns (all of our equipment is insured and adheres to county and state guidelines), engage in fishing depending on the season, hike, and so much more.
Public restrooms are conveniently located along the trails (EXTREMELY CLEAN)
